Aerial view of the Giza pyramids in Dynasty IV. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
On the Giza plateau, visible in the upper part of the drawing, stand several pyramids of varying dimensions. On the right is the pyramid of Cheops, preceded by three satellite pyramids, including that of Queen Meritates, and a field of mastabas. To its right is the pyramid of Chephren. Access is via a raised ramp, preceded by the monumental Sphinx of Giza. To the left, a smaller pyramid is accompanied by three satellite pyramids. This is the pyramid of Mykerinos. In the lower part of the drawing, we can make out the village, located near a port facility, as well as the workers’ village “the city of pyramids”.
