The town is located in the Xanthe valley. It lies within a fortified enclosure, punctuated by towers and pierced by gates. A lone temple stands in the lower part of the drawing, the Roman acropolis. A road lined with porticoes runs the length of the city. The Roman agora is located at the end of this road. It is overlooked by a theater. The Lycian agora stands high above the city, enclosed by a temple. The thermal baths can be seen on the left-hand side of the drawing. The Aegean Sea can be seen on the horizon. On the left is the town of Patara and on the right the Letoôn site.
