Aerial view of the current state of the Ramesseum at Thebes. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a graphite frame.
Access to the temple is via a first, low enclosure, pierced by a doorway visible in the lower right-hand corner. This opens onto a courtyard and the remains of a first pylon. It is flanked on the left by the royal palace, now largely destroyed. A second courtyard lined with columns leads to a portico serving the originally covered rooms of the sanctuary. On either side of the temple are the buildings reserved for the priests and the stores.
