Front view of the Amenophium and the Colossi of Memnon at Thebes (Luxor). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
A sphinx dromos leads to the pylon of the funerary temple of Amenophis III. On either side of the doorway stand two monumental statues, the Colossi of Memnon. They take on the appearance of Pharaohs. They are depicted seated, hands on knees, wearing a nemesis and beard.
