Presentation :

View of the dungeon of the Château de Vincennes. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. The castle is drawn on two superimposed sheets of paper, cut out and pasted onto another sheet representing the landscape in the background.
The château is set within a vast crenellated enclosure, punctuated by towers and gates, and bordered by a moat. A drawbridge makes access possible. The center of the courtyard is occupied by the keep. It is surrounded by secondary buildings. The internal organization of the keep is visible. One of the towers houses a spiral staircase. The building has five rib-vaulted levels. It is crowned with battlements and machicolations.
