Aerial view of Vesunna (Périgueux). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins. Inscriptions are present on the reverse.
The town is located on the right bank of the Isle River. The river is crossed by an aqueduct, visible in the lower part of the drawing. It supplies the city with water, as well as the thermal baths located there. The forum and sanctuary stand side by side in the midst of the residential area. The forum, on the left of the drawing, consists of a rectangular courtyard bordered by a colonnaded portico and bisected by a transverse building. The temple is located behind it. A sanctuary stands to the right. A circular temple, known as the “Vesone Tower”,
is set in a square courtyard surrounded by a portico (peribolus). Further right on the drawing, in the immediate vicinity of the city, stands the amphitheatre.
