The city’s theater is located in the center of a residential district, consisting of sumptuous domus and their interior gardens. The building’s semicircular cavea is enclosed by a stage wall (frons scaenae). To protect spectators, a velum can be pulled down. The theater is flanked by a courtyard bordered by a colonnaded portico.
