Aerial view of Toulouse in medieval times. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city is organized on either side of the Garonne River, shown in the center of the drawing. It is crossed by two stone bridges. It is enclosed by fortified ramparts, punctuated by towers and gates, and bordered by a moat. Religious buildings stand among the houses. On the left of the drawing, you can see the Saint-Sernin basilica, with its high bell tower. The castle and mills of the Bazacle take their place on the riverbanks in the lower part of the drawing. The town is surrounded by agricultural fields.
