Presentation :

Aerial view of the Thucca theater (Dougga). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within an untraced frame. Inscriptions are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The drawing represents the theater during a performance. The figures are seated on the tiers of the cavea, watching a theatrical performance. The actors perform on stage. The blind façade adapts to the relief of the site. The architectural décor of the stage wall, or frons scaenae, consists of two tiers of colonnades. The city can be seen in the distance. You can make out its dwellings and forum, with its temple and two courtyards.
