Presentation :

Aerial view of Thucca (Dougga). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within an untraced frame. Traces of watercolor are visible at the edges of the drawing. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city is built on a plateau. The forum stands in the center of the city, amidst the residential buildings. It comprises two courtyards lined with porticoes, an exedra courtyard and the capitoline temple. It is flanked by an open-air market. The Baths of Caracalla are nearby. This is the building with the double gable roof. You can see the theater on the right and the amphitheater on the left, near a triumphal arch. Two temples can be seen in the distance: on the left, the temple to Minerva; on the right, the temple to Saturn. The city’s cisterns are located between the amphitheatre and the temple of Minerva.
