Overhead view of the enclosure at Thevestis (Tebessa), 6th c. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The crenellated wall is punctuated by towers with loopholes. It is pierced by a monumental gateway that reuses the ancient arch of Caracalla. Merchants set up shop at the foot of the enclosure.
