Aerial view of the temple of Louqsor transformed into a Roman camp at Thebes (Louqsor). The drawing is in landscape format. It is arranged within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The castrum stands on the banks of the Nile. It is set within an enclosure fortified by towers and pierced by six gates. The camp is organized into islets on either side of the temple. On the right, a pylon flanked by two obelisks opens onto a porticoed courtyard. This courtyard is linked to a second porticoed courtyard by a covered room. The second courtyard leads to a hypostyle hall and the sanctuary.
