Overhead view of the arrival of the boats at the Opet festival in Thebes (Louqsor). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The priest-bearers place the three barks of Amun-Re, Mut (his wife) and Khonsu (their son) on the triple repository in the temple’s first courtyard. The boats are followed by a long procession of priests dressed in white. Some wave fans, others censers. The crowd, who have come to witness the event, can be seen in the right-hand corner of the drawing.
