Presentation :

Bird’s-eye view of the great solar courtyard during the Opet festival at Thebes (Luxor). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The procession of sacred barks enters the great solar courtyard of Luxor temple. While some priests support the three boats with the naos containing the god’s statue, others wave fans or censers. The three boats separate. The one containing the statue of the god Amun-Re heads straight ahead. Those of Mut (his wife) and Khonsu (their son) are taken to side chapels.
