Presentation :

Aerial view of the great processional aisle of the temple of Karnak at Thebes (Louqsor). The drawing is in portrait format. It is arranged within a frame drawn in ink. Inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The immense processional aisle of the Karnak temple, seen from south to north, crosses the drawing. A sphinx dromos leads to the temple entrance. It opens onto a succession of four pylons, adorned with colossal statues or obelisks, giving access to four vast courtyards. The aisles are filled with figures. The sanctuary can be seen in the distance. To the right of the drawing are the sanctuary’s stores and warehouses, close to a sacred lake.
