Front view of a female toilet scene. The drawing is in portrait format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
Sheltered by a portico (peristyle) that opens onto an interior garden, a young woman is washing in the company of four servants. She is comfortably seated in an armchair, while one maid styles her hair and another shows her reflection in a round mirror. The last two bring her ointments, carefully preserved in vases.
The drawing was inspired by a bas-relief in the Trier Museum.
