Front view of the finish of a chariot race in the circus of Arelate (Arles). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions are visible in the margins. The reverse also features inscriptions.
Three quadrigas, or chariots pulled by four galloping horses, are about to cross the finish line on the circus track. Behind them, we can make out the spina that delimits the central part of the ring. In the background, spectators watch from the stands.
