Overhead view of the interior of the library at Thamugadi (Timgad). The drawing is in portrait format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The drawing depicts the public library as seen from its axial window. The main room is semicircular and covered by a cul-de-four. It has two floors. A canopied statue stands in the central axis. Radiant niches, flanked by Corinthian columns, hold the rotuli. Readers use tables to consult them.
