Presentation :

A bird’s-eye view of the passage of the River Styx. The drawing is in portrait format. It is organized within a frame drawn in graphite, watercolor and gold ink. Traces of watercolor and graphite are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
In the foreground, Charon is shown taking two people in his boat on the Acheron and Cocyte rivers. In the background, the Pyriphlegethon can be seen on the left and Tartarus on the right.
The drawing was produced for an exhibition at Lyon’s Gallo-Roman Museum in 2009-2010.
