Presentation :

View of the exit of the shadows into the underworld. The portrait-format drawing is organized within a frame drawn in black ink, watercolor and gold ink. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
Through the rocky landscape of the Underworld, we can make out the Lethe, the Mnemosyne in the foreground, as well as the Ivory Gate and the Horn Gate in the background. The shadows advance in single file towards the two gates.
The drawing was produced for the exhibition at the Gallo-Roman Museum in Lyon in 2009-2010.
