Aerial view of the Siwa oasis at sunset. The drawing is in portrait format and has no frame. It consists of two superimposed and glued sheets: the landscape is glued to the sheet corresponding to the sky. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The landscape is depicted at dusk. In the foreground, a vast palm grove stretches up to a rocky outcrop, on which stands the temple of the oracle and the governor’s palace. In the distance stands a mountain called Gebel El-Mawta.
