Aerial view of the temple of the Siwa oracle. The drawing is in portrait format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The temple is located near the governor’s palace, whose outbuildings can be seen on the right of the drawing. It opens with a monumental door leading to a staircase and a second door opening onto a courtyard. A procession of priests is shown at the entrance to the sanctuary. The village and palm grove of Siwa can be seen in the distance.
