Aerial view of Segesta (Segeste). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. A poor-quality photocopy of the same drawing and inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The town is located on Mount Barbaro. It is protected by a vast fortified wall, punctuated by towers and pierced by gates. A forum, a temple and a theater can be seen among the dwellings. Two temples were built outside the city, on the right of the drawing. The surrounding landscape is rugged. Mountains can be seen in the distance. The sea is visible on the left.
