Aerial view of the Samarobriva Ambianorum theater (Amiens). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The building consists of a semi-elliptical cavea enclosed by a stage wall. The dark facade consists of a first level, opened by round-headed bays, and topped by two blind elevations. Spectators are seated on bleachers to watch a theatrical performance. A pleasure garden is planted behind the theater.
