Presentation :

Front view of a sacrificial scene. The drawing is in portrait format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
A bovine and its executioner, holding an axe, appear on the right of the drawing. To the sound of flutes, they advance with the procession to the priest who lights the pyre on a small altar.
The composition was inspired by a bas-relief of a sacrifice to Jupiter Capitolinus in the Palazzo dei Conservatori in Rome.
