Aerial view of the Vatican Circus in Rome. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Inscriptions, an arrow and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The building is located on the outskirts of the city. It consists of a vast track divided in two by the spina, around which the chariots ran. It features ponds and an obelisk. On the right, you can see the carceres from which the chariots were launched. The triumphal arch stands on the right. It will allow the winner to pass at the end of the race. The track is surrounded by bleachers for spectators.
