Presentation :

Front view of the large triclinium in Domitian’s palace on the Palatine in Rome. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
In the center, musicians play on a carpet. Around them, on three sides, beds with small round tables are lined up, on which people are eating. Several servants are busy around them. The room has many openings: large windows to the right and left, and a portico overlooking a garden opposite. Statues adorn the walls in alcoves above the windows. Smaller windows illuminate the top floor.
