Presentation :

Detail of the bas-reliefs in the Haterii tomb in Roma (Rome). The drawing is in portrait format. It is framed in ink.
It is a representation of a detail from the bas-reliefs of the tomb of a family of builders, the Haterii. The drawing depicts a funerary edifice in the shape of a small temple. Its façade is composed of four Corinthian twisted columns surmounted by a triangular pediment, with a tympanum decorated with a female bust. The top of the building is adorned with a funeral catafalque. A figure is shown reclining on a bench, accompanied by putti. To the left of the drawing, a construction machine, driven by workers, symbolizes the family’s profession.
