The colossus stands in front of the city’s amphitheater. It is seen from the back. It is a huge bronze statue of Emperor Nero with the attributes of the god Apollo (spear, eagle). He is crowned with rays. In the background stands the Colosseum. The building’s façade features three levels of galleries with semicircular arches and statues. They are topped by an attic. Figures stand at the foot of the building.
