Aerial view of Hadrian’s Mausoleum in Rome. The drawing is in portrait format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The mausoleum is set along the Tiber, visible in the lower part of the drawing. The tomb is set on a quadrangular base. It is surmounted by a blind circular drum adorned with engaged columns, on top of which is a conical mound planted with trees and surrounded by statues. The whole is crowned by a monumental base supporting a bronze quadriga with the statue of Hadrian.
