Bird’s-eye view of the carcer Tullianum in Roma (Rome). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The carcer is located along via Argentaria. It comprises two vaulted rooms one above the other. The lower one was used for those condemned to death. A few steps can be seen along the facade – these are the gémonies.
