Front view of the Colossus of Rhodos (Rhodes) under construction. The drawing is in portrait format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The bronze colossus stands at the entrance to the port. He is depicted in the nude. In his left hand, he holds a spear and drapery, while in his right, he raises a torch. His head is crowned with rays. Workers are at work polishing the statue. Scaffolding and hoists are set up at its feet. The city looms in the distance.
