Presentation :

Front view of a rendering of a cart used to transport a large cage of fawns. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
On the left, a man, seen in three-quarter view, pulls the reindeer of two oxen harnessed to a cart. Behind the animals, a man in profile, holding a riding crop in his right hand, drives the animals forward. The cart carries a large wooden cage. A third man, also in profile, holds the cage at the rear of the vehicle. The ground line is indicated by a line. A scale appears at bottom right.
The design was inspired by the mosaic at the Villa del Casale in Piazza Armerina, Sicily.
