Presentation :

Aerial view of the marble temple of Augustus and the port of Puteoli (Pozzuoli). The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins.
The Temple of Augustus stands in the foreground. A courtyard bordered by a colonnaded portico welcomes the temple. It stands on a high podium. The façade features six Corinthian columns supporting a triangular pediment with a tympanum decorated with reliefs. Acroteria decorate the corners of the roof. In the background is the harbour. Boats are moored to the quays, behind which are warehouses.
