Aerial view of the port of Puteoli (Pozzuoli). The drawing is in landscape format, with a lower margin. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margin.
The drawing shows the town’s harbor jetty. It consists of several arches, punctuated by columns and monumental arches. The harbor can be seen in the upper right-hand corner. Boats are moored at the quays. In the foreground, a boat with sails, the Olympias, can be seen. In the background, slightly off-center on the right, we see a large ship transshipping to a smaller one. The warehouses extend to the rear.
