Front view of the atrium of the Pompeii fountain house. The drawing is in portrait format. It includes sketches on the reverse. It is composed of several superimposed sheets. The drawing is pasted onto a photocopied sheet colored in ink and watercolor. A marie-louise, made of canson paper, frames the drawing. Inscriptions appear on the reverse. This is the fountain in the atrium of Pompeii’s Fountain House. It features a semicircular apse covered with a conch and surmounted by a triangular pediment.

Several figures are depicted in front of the fountain. A mother holds her infant in her arms. A toddler sits naked on the lawn. The arm and leg of a fourth figure can be seen.
