Aerial view of Pompeii’s forum. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The forum is at the center of the drawing. It consists of a rectangular courtyard bordered by a portico. At the far end of the courtyard is the Temple of Jupiter. The building is flanked on the left by the Basilica and the Temple of Apollo. Opposite the temple of Jupiter are three public buildings. On the right are the Eumachia building, the temple of Vespasian, the Augusteum and a market.
