Presentation :

Aerial view of the Val-de-Grâce abbey in Paris. The drawing is in portrait format and has no frame.
The abbey comprises a vast courtyard opening onto the church and convent buildings. To the right of the drawing is the cloister with its walled garden. The Baroque church is built on a Latin cross plan. The transept crossing is surmounted by a dome resting on a drum and attic. The building’s facade is composed of two levels with columns supporting triangular pediments, framed by scrolled fins. The rear of the building features formal gardens. A city can be seen in the distance.
