Aerial view of the Palais de la Cité, Paris, on the banks of the Seine, 15th c. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink along the lateral edges. Traces of inscriptions and traces of watercolor, ink and graphite are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The palace was built on the island of the city, near one of the riverbanks. A large enclosure protects the end of the island, which is occupied by a vast garden.
