Presentation :

Aerial view of Notre-Dame de Paris on the Ile de la Cité. The drawing is in portrait format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
In the lower right-hand corner of the drawing, we can make out the Petit Pont, lined with houses. It links the Île de la Cité to the left bank of the city. The cathedral stands on the Île de la Cité. It is set amidst residential areas, not far from the Hôtel-Dieu. The Latin cross-shaped edifice is topped by a high spire at the transept crossing. The arms of the transept end in a portal. The ribbed vaults are supported by buttresses, visible from the outside. The nave is entered through a monumental portal comprising two levels of elevation, surmounted by two towers. The façade is adorned with sculpted decorations and stained-glass windows.
