Aerial view of Diocletian’s camp at Tadmor (Palmyra). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and graphite are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The drawing shows Diocletian’s camp inside the city walls. It is flanked by a transverse colonnade. At the far end of the camp, the temple with the legions’ ensigns can be seen.
