Front view of the Guild Forum in Ostia (Ostia). The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame.
The guilds’ square is organized around a courtyard, at the center of which stands a temple. The temple’s facade features four Corinthian columns supporting a triangular pediment with a tympanum decorated with reliefs. The courtyard is bordered by a Corinthian colonnaded portico, giving access to the various shipowners’ offices. The space is covered with a coffered ceiling and paved with figurative scenes. Figures circulate under the portico.
