Aerial view of Mediolanum Santonum (Saintes) during the construction of the enclosure in the Late Roman period. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The town is located on the left bank of the Charente River. It is built within a fortified enclosure. Its orange roofs distinguish it from other settlements. To the right of the drawing, at the level of the bridge, you can see a port area. The amphitheatre is on the left. Fields stretch as far as the eye can see.
