Presentation :

Aerial view of Lyon in medieval times. The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. A sketch and inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city stretches along the banks of the Saône and Rhône rivers. Two bridges link the banks. In the upper part of the drawing, on the heights of the Fourvière hill and at the confluence, the city’s dwellings develop. Several different enclosures can be distinguished. Saint-Jean church is located at the foot of Fourvière hill. The monasteries of the Friars Preachers and Friars Minor are located on the peninsula. A canal runs alongside the enclosure on the right-hand side of the drawing.
