Aerial view of Lutetia Parisiorum (Paris). The drawing is in landscape format and has no frame. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The city extends along the left bank of the Seine and the Île de la Cité. Along the cardo (north-south axis), you can see the forum. It comprises a courtyard surrounded by a colonnaded portico, a temple and a basilica. A theater and thermal baths are nearby. Slightly set back on the right is an amphitheatre-theatre. The port lies along the Seine, between the left bank and the Île de la Cité. The latter features a temple and another monumental building. It is linked to the banks by two boat bridges that cross the river. The city is supplied with water by an aqueduct, which can be seen in the lower part of the drawing. Woods and forests can be seen in the distance.
