Front view of the Severan forum at Leptis Magna. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins.
The temple, dedicated to the Severan family, stands on the forum square. The square is lined with porticoes on two levels. Standing on a high podium accessible by stairs, the temple features a facade with eight Corinthian columns, surmounted by a triangular pediment whose tympanum is decorated with bas-reliefs. Statues adorn the corners of the roof.
