Aerial view of Knossos Palace. The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
The palace is organized in the center of the drawing. It is built around a rectangular courtyard. The entrance is via monumental staircases, visible on the left of the drawing. The upper part of the drawing contains the throne room, sanctuary and storerooms. In the lower part of the drawing are the king’s private apartments and megaron. The city spreads out all around.
