Aerial view of Herod’s first palace at Jericho. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink. Traces of watercolor and graphite are visible in the margins. Inscriptions appear on the reverse.
In front of the palace, a garden is depicted on either side of the palm-lined driveway leading to the palace. Several people are present on this road. The palace is rectangular in plan, with a porticoed gallery on the first floor. In the center of the palace is a courtyard framed by two-storey porticoes.
