Presentation :

Aerial view of the city of Isfahan in the 17th c. The drawing is in landscape format. It is framed in ink, except at the left edge. Inscriptions and traces of watercolor are visible in the margins. A preparatory drawing of the city of Isfahan appears on the reverse.
The city in the foreground is enclosed by a wall. The great mosque with its blue dome is clearly visible, as are the various canals that irrigate the city’s gardens and the three bridges over the Zayandeh Rud river. Beyond the enclosure are the royal gardens, with the mountains in the background.
