Overhead view of the construction of a house in Ilion (Troy). The drawing is in landscape format. It is organized within a frame drawn in ink. Traces of watercolor and inscriptions are visible in the margins. Inscriptions also appear on the reverse. The scene depicts the construction of a house inside the city. Several workers are at work on the site. In the foreground, workers are cutting the stone blocks that will form the base of the house. They are using various tools: mallets, chisels, square. On the right, along the wall, carpenters are preparing the beams for the roof structure, which roofers will then install at the top of the building. On scaffolding, masons plaster the façade of the house. A group of women and children pass through the building site, observing the progress of the work.
